Create your own rugby drill

Turn a drill idea into a coaching picture your staff can reuse.

The Rugby Playbook Studio drill designer gives coaches a dedicated workspace for laying out players, equipment, movement, phases, and coaching notes instead of forcing a practice activity into a generic slide.

What it does

A reusable drill, not a disposable sketch

Lay out players and equipment on a rugby training area.
Add movement paths and multiple phases where the activity changes over time.
Keep coaching notes with the drill so the diagram and the coaching detail stay together.
Save drills inside drillbooks for reuse in future sessions.
Start from editable non-contact starter templates when a blank pitch is not the fastest starting point.
Add saved drills to Practice Planner sessions when building the training week.

Workflow

Build, coach, reuse

  1. 1

    Set up the activity

Place the players and equipment and define the working area.

  2. 2

    Add the coaching detail

Show movement, phases, and the notes that explain what the coach is looking for.

  3. 3

    Save it for practice

Keep the drill in a drillbook and reuse or edit it when the next session needs it.

Rugby-first

The coach still owns the progression

A drill diagram cannot decide whether an activity is appropriate for a particular age grade, contact level, facility, or group. RPS provides the visual structure; the coach remains responsible for progression, supervision, player welfare, and local laws and policies.
